Script Frenzy (formerly in April)
In the past this was an event hosted by the Office of Letters and Light that heralded and championed the ability to write 50 pages worth of script in 30 days. Due to the numbers of participants getting smaller and smaller each year, the event was retired a few years back in favor of the Camp NaNoWriMo idea.
Camp NaNoWriMo (April, July)
Camp NaNoWriMo is a twice yearly, somewhat less structured version of NaNoWriMo in November. During Camp, you’re placed in a cabin with 10 other writers, based upon any possible combination of criteria. This replaces the standard region. Something that draws a lot of people to try Camp NaNoWriMo before the actual event is the ability to set your own word count goal. MLHGL and kitkatt both recommend that if 50,000 words seems intimidating to you, you might want to try these events first.
